I am excited to be planning a bike tour of Alberta this summer in support of Camp Evergreen. In late August, over the course of 2 weeks, I will be biking 1,600 kms and visiting 18 Alberta church communities throughout Calgary, Edmonton, and Southern Alberta.
Why Camp Evergreen?
My life has been transformed at Camp Evergreen, and for the past 8 years, I have served on the board and seen first hand how God is bringing more and more people to camp from all over Alberta. They are coming to experience God's creation within a loving community and to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. I have also been given a passion to see the Alberta churches who founded Camp Evergreen over 50 years ago, re-engage and unite in support of the ministry and mission of the camp.
Camp Evergreen is growing and looking to the next 50 years of ministry. There are 2 new staff homes being built this year and plans are underway for a new lodge. More than ever before, we need to rally around camp in support of these plans. Information about the project can be found at reachinghigher.ca.
The ride will be taking place August 12-26. I will be connecting with people in each community to help organize an evening BBQ potluck and would love to have people join me for group rides along the tour. See below for details of each leg and to find out when I will be in your community.
Please contact me if you are interested in helping to organize a BBQ potluck in your community or want to join me for a leg of the tour!
My goal is to raise awareness and support for what God is doing at Camp Evergreen. I am looking for 1,000 people to sponsor the tour and join me in support of Camp Evergreen reaching higher and reaching more people with the Good News of Jesus!
